” Mr. AS PETER, an 18 Yr old, a 10+ 2 passed student, from Hungpung, Ukhrul district, Manipur, went missing from a moving train (Karmabhoomi express, No. 22512) on 1st May at Tatanagar station, Jamshedpur, Jarkhan at 7:30pm.

AS PETER along with his paternal uncle AS Soror and two other man YR Solomon and Mr. Ashang boarded the train from Kamakhya jn Guwahati on 30 th April 2016 at 6:30pm. They are headed for Mumbai. AS PETER went out of the train at Tatanagar station, Jamshedpur to purchase something at 7:30 pm on 1st May 2016. Since then he didn’t come back to the train. His cell phone is kept in his bag he has left in the train.

Two of his friends deboarded the train in the next station and went back to the Tatanagar station where Mr Peter went missing. But he was not found there. The train has reached its destination last midnight. His friends who went back in search of left the station and are on their to Mumbai. It is reported that At the time he went missing, he was wearing a brown half shirt, Red half pant & sandal

On April 26, 2016 Mumbai: Miss Marte Doye, 22 years, Arunachali, working as receptionist at hotel after diploma in Hotel Management, class 11 passed. Spoke to Police officer investigating the case, post mortum about to start to know the cause of death in Raigad civil hospital.Some Arunachalis are with the dead body.

No one knows what exactly happen and they are still trying to figure out  The cops bought her body here in Mumbai and Is in the civil hospital. They are on the way to take the body now, the worse part they are not able to locate any of her relatives or friends at Mumbai.

On April 23, 2016, Rajasthan: Miss Jenny and six mizos females, thrown out forcefully and they have reported all kind of exploitations by the catering company owner at Udaipur city, they were employed after skill developments in catering.

They are on street without money, have no idea about city nor have any mizos or NE people whom they know there and were in tears seeking help as they have no where to go tonight, told them them go to nearest police station for help.  Trying to inform RC Mizoram for help. April 12, 2016, Delhi: Miss Deepa,18 year, resident of Lairouching, student of class 12th is missing since yesterday, she is a minor girl, her photo and her fake facebook boyfriend call Sharma is uploaded here for identification etc. She was brainwashed by him in facebook, she had just appeared her 12th examination on 7th of April 2016. Her worried relatives have requested me to help them to locate her. Any clue or if you find her, request inform police( 1093 North East Region Helpline) immediately.

On March 30, 2016 Delhi: A 22-year-old girl from Manipur has been allegedly raped by a Nigerian national in Panchsheel Vihar while attending a birthday party along with three of her friends from Mizoram on the night of 30th March. According to the complaint, after the Nigerian guy rapped her inside washroom, she fled away into the room. “When I told to my friends, they started thrashing me along with another Nigerian guy. They all beat me up instead of helping,” she said tearfully.

“I ran out of the room and shouted for help. Some local called up police and police took us to police station”, she added. Complain has been lodged in Malviya Nagar Police Station. The complainant was taken to Safdarjun hospital for medical test and also produced before the magistrate. A case of rape has been registered. However no arrest have made so far.

On March 2, 2016 Mumbai: A 26-year-old girl from Manipur who was assaulted, molested, kicked and dragged by her hair in Santacruz in public, found no sympathy or assistance from onlookers or even the local police, who ignored her request for an FIR and merely registered a non-cognisable offence (NC). Even in that complaint, the officer on duty made no mention of molestation, even though she showed him her torn clothes. Anjali Toijam (name changed) hails from Manipur, but has been living in Mumbai for over five years, working as a make up artist. Anjali and her sister live in Kalina’s Kolivery village. On Saturday, Anjali stepped out with her friend around 6.30 pm, when she was accosted by an unknown man near the Palm Villa society. He first spat at her, and when she objected, he began to beat her.

On February 14, 2016 Delhi: Delhi police has arrested one Dhan Kumar from Jyoti Nagar, Gurgaon for murder of unknown north east female brutally killed and dead body inside cotton bag and thrown at park in central Delhi. Dead female was Manita Tamang, 26 years, from Darjeeling. she was living with the accused as live in relationship for last four year. The accused doubted her character and killed her and thrown the dead body inside the sack.


On February 5, 2016 Delhi: Body of one Tzukdirenla Imsomg who hails from Nagaland’s Dimapur was found packed inside sacks with some potatoes in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk area. Delhi Police found the dead body in the wee hours of Friday. Her husband whose name is Watienba works with 26 Battalion of CRPF and is posted in Jharkhand. They both reportedly live in Jharkhand. They were married since last two years. Deceased’s mother had a chat with her daughter via phone on Thursday evening. She did not display any remorse to her mother then and said that she is in Jharkhand with her husband. Hardly five hours later, her body was found in Delhi. Delhi Police is trying to reach out her husband while initiating investigation.

January 30, 2016 Delhi: A Delhi based journalist working in a Guwahati based news channel alleges rape and sexual abuse against two senior journalists working in two different Guwahati based news channels. The 35 year old journalist alleges that her editor in chief forced her to sleep with a senior Assam minister when the minister visited Samrat Hotel in New Delhi .

She filed an FIR in Delhi’s Rajouri Garden Police Station. Police clamped cases of rape against one journalist and cases of outraging modesty and common intention against the other. Speaking to NET, the victim girl said the accused journalist had established sexual relation with her in false promise of job and marriage. And she also labelled serious allegation against the other journalist of telling her to sleep with a senior minister when the minister stayed in New Delhi’s Samrat Hotel.

On January 25, 2016 Gurgaon: 75 Years old bedridened ailing father from Nagaland seek assistance to find his 25 year old daughter, who abandoned him. I have reccived this request from Incharge Grace Mission, Bihar, on behalf of tearful old father from Nagaland to locate his daughter, who is believed to be with his foreigner male friend and living in metropolitan city (not known) and she has stopped contact from her parent for last 4 years, her mother has died recently, father is heart broken and bedridden and wish to see his daughter or hear her voice. Her old father is worried about her fate. 

On January 20, 2016 Delhi: Sikkim Woman Alleges Rape, Assault in Delhi. A 21-year-old woman from Sikkim has alleged that she was raped and assaulted by her former employer and a colleague in a south Delhi-based NGO, following which the two accused have been arrested, police said.

In her complaint, the woman told the police that she used to raise funds for the NGO and her job required travelling to Chandigarh, Shimla, Dehradun, and other places, and it was during one of those trips that one of the accused allegedly physically assaulted her.

The woman further alleged that she was raped by one of the accused while the other person filmed the act. The woman also alleged that the founder “headed NGOs by different names” and would bring girls from north-east on the pretext of providing them jobs and in turn “sexually abused” them, a senior Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) official said.

During those days hey days of hydro power companies thronging to NE states by private power developers from cities… of power developer came to her hometown through local leaders….somehow, she was hired as receptionist cum care taker for that power developers her hometown, she was overjoyed…but…she was transferred to Delhi, she didn’t want to leave her state and ailing mother & four small school going siblings….tried at several interviews for LDC, teachers……she losed all her hope as her fellow classmates, who were very poor in studies and having connection with local leaders and big officers were selected in interviews for jobs. She even worked for local mla during election time hoping for help that he will help her in getting job, her hope dashed to ground as her mla also abandoned her……she was left sinking in quagmire of poverty, helplessness….she thought of committing suicide by jumping into the river, but inocent face of her youngest sister flashed through her mind, heard painful melancholic coughing of her ailing mother( their house is near the river ) stopped her from taking extreme step…..rubbing her tears, she came back home… seeing the penury miseries, poverty, no money for her mother’s medicines, she went back to that power developer from delhi for getting back her job…..with heavy heart, she landed at Delhi to work as receptionist cum care taker of power developer office.

Seeing her helplessness, loneliness & having no one at Delhi…..her employer presurizing her for physical relationship with the promise of next pay raise……she relented….even thought of going back to home at NE…..but ….during one of meeting at office, he laced sedactive medicine at her cold drink, she fell unconcsious….her modesty was outraged, obscene and nude photos taken…..blackmailed her for his hedonistic carnal desire every now and than….not only that her employer found pleasure in assaulting and torturing her before satisfying his carnal desire…..( her injured reddish blood clogged swollen face photos tell the tale of horrendous inhuman assaults to hapless girl….)
She didnot contact back home as penury and helplessness of family detered her nor had courage to tell to other people back home….that emboldened her monster employer to continue his demonic carnal activities…..

Somehow, she gathered courage on last Tuesday day, she dialed Delhi police Helpine… our horror, she was in deep trauma, swollen faced, injuries all over……FIR registered, statement before magistrate taken….roped in one of our Lady NE advocate… kept her at women shelter home,………. jobless, no loved ones to tell her terrible incidents, employer on run…..
She is asking me for some job or some skill training to earn her livelihood…..somehow i managed to admit her for computer training at delhi, managed some pocket money by me and few frIends of mine…… She continue to sits …… silence at women shelter home weeping silently……

January 2, 2016 Uttarkhand: Four Manipuri students enrolled in different educational institutes of Dehradun were arrested by the police on Saturday for allegedly murdering a person in Kehri village under Prem Nagar police station. All four were produced before a court which sent them to 14-day judicial custody.

The arrested youth had allegedly urinated on the boundary wall of a house owned by Kishore Kumar in the Kehri village. The incident sparked a clash between two groups in which Kumar’s friend Arjun died due to a severe head injury. Station officer, Prem Nagar, Prem Saini told TOI, “We worked on the case and found the details of four students. We discovered that they all were from Manipur and are studying in different institutes in Dehradun.” The arrested youth have been identified as Bernandnan Gotebum, Norem Maalem, Magdi Sang Gyankoner and Mesnath Ronald Numbang. On Friday morning, locals in large numbers gathered at the Prem Nagar police station and demanded immediate arrests in the case.

On December 28, 2015 Delhi: NORTH EAST Youth (Arunachali) tourist missing since 27.12.15 from Delhi, Help us to locate him. On December 18, 2015 Chandigarh: Attack on Sikkim Students in Chandigarh; 5 Hurt, 10 Held. Five students from Sikkim studying at Institute of Technology and Future Trends (ITFT), Mullanpur, were assaulted by a group of students belonging to Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday evening. Earlier in the day, the two sides had clashed on the institute’s premises and intervention of the authorities averted the situation from getting serious.

Police said that five students of Sikkim, identified as Sangam Rai, Avinash Lama, Amir Hang, Shring and Sudeep were admitted to Government Multi Speciality Hospital, Sector 16 with injuries of different nature.

Police said during investigations it was learnt that a few months back, a fight had ensued between a Himachal Pradesh and a Sikkim student inside a bus. Thereafter, a cold war was going on between the two sides and had been exchanging blows every now and then. As the difference between the groups increased, the Himachal Pradesh students on Tuesday thrashed Sikkim students at Khuda Alisher with batons, rods, besides damaging the bus they were travelling in.

DSP (central) Satish Kumar said they had arrested 10 students – Ajay Kumar, Sunny Thakur, Manu Thakur, Vishal, Anil, Rohit, Pardeep, Vijay, Sandeep and Gurjant – for rioting and wrongful restraint. A case has been registered at the Sector 11 police station.

On December 10, 2015 Gurgaon: A 30-year-old man from Manipur was allegedly beaten up in front of a woman friend in Gurgaon Tuesday evening, said police, even as the assault revived talk of violence against people from the Northeast in the national capital region.

Lal Bruce Thangkhal, the media in-charge of North East Support Centre and Helpline (NESCH) in Gurgaon, suffered extensive injuries when a group of men assaulted him at about 8 pm, said police sources. He was returning from a party in Chakarpur village when a group of people attacked them, added the sources.

On December 8, 2015 Gurgaon: Lal Bruce Thangkhal, a Manipuri youth media coordinator of North East Support Centre and Helpline (NESCH) Delhi suffered extensive injury when a group of man assaulted him racially in Gurgaon on December 8 around 8 p.m.,

The victim was walking down coming back from the party at around 8 p.m., then four drunk men started passing lewd remarks without any reason, and when he objected the way they abused, they racially assaulted and attacked him. One Manipuri girl objected the goons, but they threatened her to leave the place and she was almost beaten, said the press release.

It said, Lal Bruce Thangkhal was lying in a pool of blood unconsciously, and when the girl came back alongwith some Manipuri friends the goons were already absconded. Later, the girls took the victim to Uma Sanjeevani Hospital Gurgaon Sec-56, Haryana. Police took his statement in the following morning December 9 after he regained his consciousness and a FIR was registered immediately.

On December 6, 2015 Mumbai: The body of Mawramsong Khar Hujon from East Khasi Hills in Meghalaya, who was reported to be missing from Mumbai Airport last week, has been identified by his relatives in the Cooper Hospital after he was found dead next to the western railway tracks.

According to the airport police, Hujon’s body has been in the morgue of Cooper Hospital since December 6, a day after he was reported missing. The 25-year-old had died after being hit by a train near Borivali.

The body of Mawramsong Kharhujon who went missing from Mumbai airport recently was identified on Saturday from Cooper Hosspital, Mumbai. The body had been lying at the Cooper Hospital since December 6 and it was identified on Saturday by the relatives.

The Mumbai police said that Mawramsong was hit by a train in the railway line. However, the relatives and Khasi residents from Mumbai informed that he was hit on his head by a blunt object and the wound was not caused by any speeding train as the head was intact and not smashed. He had gone missing from Mumbai airport terminal while on his way back home. Kharhujon went missing after he went to the washroom of the airport, according to his sister Pynshisha Kharhujon. On November 14, 2015 Gurgaon: The town of North East, who once again showed incidents of tampering with her Hakpeedit women accused of molestation is imposed on a young man living in the same neighbourhood. According to the victim to resist tampering accused has threatened to ill her. Her complaint is lodged an FIR against the accused. The police are now working on finding the accused absconding.

The 22 years old woman complained to police that he rented in the village is the family Ckrpur. Several other tenants have lived in the same house. Jisan mine of the same name of a tenant who is a resident of Mewat Hun, Sisan AC repair work.

On November 10, 2015 Gurgaon: A north-east student has been allegedly molested in Gurgaon. The girl has alleged molestation by three men for not accepting their friendship. The police said a case has been registered on her complaint and inquiry has begun.

“A girl who studies in a college was molested in Gurgaon by a man. The girl belongs to the North-East. The case has been registered on her complaint and the inquiry has begun. Aman who is the accused misbehaved with the girl when she turned down her offer of a friendship,” said police. No arrests have been made so far.

On August 22, 2015, Delhi: A 20-year-old student from Manipur, who studies at a presigious college of the University of Delhi, was allegedly molested by a labourer in north Delhi’s Malkaganj area, police said on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Mohammad Farmood (55), a native of Darbhanga district of Bihar, was arrested after being booked under Sections 354A (advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC, said a senior police official.

On August 19, 2015 Delhi: In another incident, two women — one from Siliguri and the other from Sikkim — were allegedly harassed by two bikers in Southeast Delhi’s Amar Colony area. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when the victims were returning home from the Lajpat Nagar market. In the third incident, a 23-year-old woman from Manipur was allegedly molested by an unidentified youth in North Delhi’s Model Town area. –

On August 18, 2015 Delhi: Three separate incidents of molestation were reported from different parts of the capital. In one incident, a 24-year-old woman from Nagaland alleged on Thursday that one of her neighbours forcibly entered her house in northwest Delhi’s Ashok Vihar and clicked her pictures. On the basis of her complaint, a case was registered under appropriate sections of the IPC and the accused, Amit Saini, arrested. “The victim, who stays in a paying guest accommodation, alleged that Saini climbed up to the third floor where she stays and started taking her pictures. She immediately called police,” a senior police officer said. –

On August 14 2015, Delhi: A 32-year-old married woman from the northeast was allegedly harassed while her husband and a friend beaten up by three youths at south-east Delhi’s Amar Colony area, police said on Monday.

All three accused – identified as Ankit (19), Rahul (22) and Jatinder (22) – have been arrested by the police. The accused were with their friends, Kunal and Vaibhav, whose roles in the incident are still being probed, said Mandeep Singh Randhawa, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East).

The incident took place on the intervening night between Friday and Saturday. The woman, her husband and the friend were returning home from another friend’s house in Amar Colony, said a police official.

On August 3, 2015 Bangalore: A three-year-old girl was allegedly molested at a private school in Indiranagar area in Bengaluru when she was on her way home. Police suspect the child was molested by a staff member inside the school premises.

On July 31, 2015 Gurgaon: a woman from Assam who was allegedly sexually molested by a manager at a company in Gurgaon, Haryana. The woman also alleged that he made racist comments against her. The 25-year-old woman works at a private company in Gurgaon.

In her complaint filed on 31 July, the woman alleged that the manager abused her by calling her “chinky” and “sexually molested” her, a reliable source told IB Times India. The complaint further stated that the manager threatened her to quit her job from 1 August.

The source also revealed that the alleged incident happened some days back but the complaint was filed on 31 July. The Gurgaon police are investigating the matter; no arrest has been made so far.

On July 13, 2015 Delhi: A young Manipuri staff-nurse working in Dr RML Hospital, New Delhi was allegedly strangulated and physically assaulted by a patient named Amit Kumar on the night of July 13. The victim was on night duty when the accused grabbed her neck and hit her on her face. She is said to be in a traumatic condition. The doctors and nurses present, who saw the incident, allegedly did not help her. The accused is absconding and no arrests have made so far. Investigation is on. (TNT News)

On June 23, 2015 Delhi: A young girl from Arunachal Pradesh was allegedly molested by a man at Delhi who was later arrested by the police, confirmed Robin Hibu, the Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police. The incident took place at 3.30 am early this morning. A release from ASUD (Arunachal Students Union Delhi) said, the Arunachalee girl who has come to Delhi few months ago as a student of skill development training (beautician course) at VLCC Institute, Dwarka, New Delhi was sexually molested by the male caretaker of the paying guest accommodation where she was housed with others.

On June 6, 2015 Delhi: In a shocker to the student community studying in Delhi, a Chin student succumbed to his injuries at the Mata Chanan Devi Hospital today. Chuah Ceu, 28 was stabbed in the stomach by an unidentified person while he was taking a walk in his neighborhood with his two friends, Sang Duh and Khamh Bawi. The deceased was studying Political Science at Delhi University. Duh, in his late twenties, told the Chin Human Rights Organization that Ceu had been lagging behind them around 11:30pm while Bawi and he had been talking as they had walked.

On May 31, 2015 Hyderabad: This is to bring to your notice that on the 31st of May 2015 (Sunday), at around 7:30 AM, Prof. Gracious Temsen (Associate Professor, Centre for Applied Linguistics & Translation Studies, University of Hyderabad)’s residence on campus (B 29) was raided by a team of campus security personnel. Prof. Temsen was out of station then, visiting her family. Her brother and some friends were there at her quarters that day. On being called up by her brother about the raid, Prof. Temsen tried talking to Security Officer Mr. T. V. Rao, who headed the raid. Mr. Rao told her that they were given an order for the raid on the basis of some reported illegal activities in the house.  When Prof. Temsen asked him what kind of “illegal activities”, he hung up the phone on her and later flatly refused to talk or even listen to what she was trying to say. After this, Prof. Temsen called up the Deputy Registrar (Estate), Mr. Challa Venkateshwar, who did not sound a wee bit surprised when she talked with him, and in fact he shouted at her and accused her of “illegal things” without even trying to reason things with her.

On May 29, 2015 Bangalore: The victims have been identified as Lal Mantuia (19) an engineering student of Ambedkar College and Lal Hmangaisia (19) a student of St. Joseph College in Shanthinagar and natives of Mizoram. According to the police, the victims were returning to their hostel in Papa Reddy Layout at around 11 p.m. when the accused passed comments and a heated argument ensued. The three accused beat-up the students and escaped.

On May 29, 2015 Delhi: Brilliant Horam, a Tangkhul student from Manipur, studying at DU College was brutally assaulted by three youths on his way back to his rented house at Burari in North Delhi on Saturday (May 30) evening. He was found lying unconscious with bruises on his head, face and hand. He was taken to a nearby hospital where his condition is stated to be serious. He has lost his mental composure and cannot remember basic facts like his father’s name etc.

On April 21, 2015 Bangalore: Two youths who allegedly molested a girl from the north east and assaulted her cousin in central Bangalore on April 21 have been arrested by the police. One of the attackers had claimed to be the son of the Bangalore police commissioner M N Reddi. The arrested persons have been identified as Afan and Abbas both aged about 22. Deputy Commissioner of Police (central division) Sandeep Patil confirmed the arrest on Thursday afternoon and said that two more persons involved in the attack on the girl and boy from Arunachal Pradesh were still at large. The incident occurred on Tuesday night when Arunachal Pradesh native Tumken Siram and his cousin sister were on their way to their residence in the Shantinagar area in central Bangalore. On March 30, 2015 Bangalore: In yet another case of an attack on a member of the northeast community, a 22-year-old Manipuri youth was allegedly assaulted by a trio on Saturday night in Austin Town. A case was registered at Ashok Nagar police station on Sunday afternoon only after the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) intervened. The victim, Phingmi, has been living in the city for eight years. He works with a leading tech firm.

On March 9, 2015 Delhi: A Assamese Youth Attack. The assault on 21-year-old Assamese student Arbazuddin on Thursday in Delhi’s Amar Colony was not racist, as the attackers presumed him to be a thief breaking into someone’s house, the Delhi Police said on Monday.

The victim, who was under the influence of liquor, was trying to get into the house thinking it was his own, and when he couldn’t open it with his key, tried to break open the lock. The noise alerted the house-owner and neighbours who attacked him before calling the police.

On February 27, 2015 Delhi: 25-year-old woman from Sikkim was allegedly trafficked to Delhi and raped by an AIIMS doctor at Hauz Khas on Thursday night. The woman, the wife of an army personnel, was brought to Delhi on February 20 on the pretext of a job at a beauty parlour, reported PTI. Her husband is a Gorkha Regiments jawan posted in Rajasthan. 27-year-old  Mehr Tez is attached to the Neurology Department of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS). He, along with four others, including a married couple, was arrested by police.

On January 4, 2015 UP: Woman molested by duo on Delhi-bound North-East Express. A woman was allegedly molested on Sunday on board the Delhi-bound North-East Express by two youths, who were later arrested.

According to Government Railway Police (GRP) Inspector Tripurari Pandey, the matter came to light in the afternoon as the train arrived at the Kanpur Central railway station.

December 17, 2014 Gurgaon: Woman from Northeast molested in Gurgaon.  A 20-year-old woman from the Northeast was allegedly molested by a fashion boutique staffer in a shopping centre on Sohna Road, police said on Wednesday. The incident took place on Tuesday evening when the woman, hailing from Manipur, had gone to the fashion boutique on Sohna Road to pick up her clothes. In her complaint, she alleged that the staff at the boutique molested her and threatened her with dire consequences.

On December 9, 2014 Bangalore: Former cop’s daughter attacked by ‘burkha-clad’ women. The image of India’s I-T capital Bangalore as ‘one of the most cosmopolitan cities’ has taken yet another hit. Just two months after a 26-year-old engineering student was beaten up by a group of men who reportedly abused and then attacked him for not speaking Kannada, another alleged racial attack has been reported from the city. According to a report in Bangalore Mirror, former city police commissioner HT Sangliana’s daughter, Rachel, was allegedly assaulted and racially abused by two women at a supermarket in the city.

On November 20, 2014 Delhi: Manipuri PhD Scholar Found Murdered in South Delhi. A 33-year-old PhD scholar from Manipur was found brutally murdered with his neck slit with a knife at his home in south Delhi’s Kotla Mubarakpur area here last night. Keashung Zingram Kengoo had completed his PhD from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. He had come to Delhi just a month ago and lived in a room situated on the second floor of apartment F27/481 in the narrow Krishna Gali, police said.

On Noverber 20, 2014 Bangalore: Manipuri student assaulted in Bangalore, three arrested. Manipuri student who came to the rescue of a girl being harassed by eve-teasers was allegedly assaulted by them at a locality here in the second such recent incident involving a youth from the northeast.

All the three men who were drunk when the incident occurred last night were arrested today and booked under various sections of IPC, including 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) and Section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), police said. The trio passed lewd comments at the girl and the 21-year- old student studying at a city college, who was passing by, confronted them for their misbehaviour, police said.

On October 28, 2014 Bangalore: a Nagaland couple assaulted in Bangalore. Days after the Manipuri student Michael Haokip was assaulted for not knowing Kannada, another couple from Nagaland was assaulted on the outskirts of the city by four men who called them “foreigners” and “NRI”.

The victims, who requested the media for anonymity, have said in their complaint to the police that the man was punched and the woman slapped by them.

Although the attack happened on Saturday, the issue came to light on Monday after the arrest of the four men. They have been identified as Rathan, Mahesh, Harish and Ananth. Mahesh, Harish and Ananth are software engineers and Rathan owns a gym.

On October 22, 2014 West Bengal: Manipuri student pushed off train in West Bengal. A student from the North-east was killed on Sunday night after he was pushed off a speeding train in West Bengal.

The deceased identified as Kanta Soram of Lukher village in Imphal west district was studying in West Bengal. He was travelling in the Dibrugrah–Basantapur Express. He rang up his mother from the Howarh station. Late in the night his mother called up on his mobile. Nobody took the call.

On October 16, 2014 Bangalore: For Not Speaking Kannada. An engineering student from the northeastern state of Manipur was attacked in Bangalore last night by men who allegedly demanded that he “speak in the Kannada language or get out”.

Michael Lamjathang Haokip, who heads a Manipur students’ body, alleges that he and his friends were eating at a roadside stall when three men threatened and later attacked them.

On October 1, 2014 Delhi: Three students, including a girl, belonging to the Northeast region, were allegedly beaten up by some residents of Lajpat Nagar area of Delhi today.

According to police, the three youths are residents of Assam and are pursuing a course in photography. The incident took place when they were roaming around in Prakash Colony and clicking pictures.

On August 12, 2014 Pune: Six attacks on Manipuris, many from northeast choose to stay home. Pune: The sense of insecurity and fear among students and working professionals from the northeast living in Pune has deepened after the Mumbai violence and attacks on northeastern people on August 8 and 9.

Ten students and professionals were beaten up by some miscreants allegedly belonging to a minority community in Pune’s Kondhwa and Poona College areas. “The miscreants were saying ‘kisi chinki logon ko chor ne ka nain’ . The violence occurred three days ago when we were assaulted by miscreants of a particular community for no apparent reason,” said Kahomdai Panmei, one of the victims, who works as a software engineer.

Just a few days after a man from Manipur was beaten to death in Delhi, another person from the state has been beaten up in the national capital’s suburb Gurgaon. On July 24, 2014 Gurgaon: A couple from Northeast were brutally beaten by four men in Nathupur, Gurgaon on Sunday at 11 pm.

The attackers were armed with knives and started beating the couple. The husband received injuries on the head and is being treated at Nelekanth hospital in Gurgaon. His wife, too, has received several injuries.

This incident of violence against Indians from the Northeast comes only days after a former call centre employee from Manipur​ was murdered in the Capital.

On July 22, 2014 Delhi: Manipuri BPO employee had received multiple injuries in neck, brain: Autopsy report. The 29-year-old Manipuri BPO employee, who was beaten to death here early Monday by five youths, had received multiple internal injuries in neck, an autopsy report has revealed.

As per the autopsy report, handed over by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Trauma Centre to Delhi Police, Akha Salouni had received injuries in abdomen and brain too.  The brutal attack sparked outrage in the northeastern community.

On July 21, 2014 Delhi: Manipuri man dies after being beaten inside his car in South Delhi. A PTI report says the man’s name is Shaloni and that he was returning from a friend’s place in Kotla Mubarakpur last night when a group of 5-6 men arrived at the spot by car and attacked him.

“We have registered a case and investigation has been taken up. He was attacked by 5-6 men. There was no provocation from the part of the deceased,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) BS Jaiswal said.

“We are trying to identify the attackers and the exact sequence of events,” he said. Shaloni lived in Munirka area and was presently unemployed, adds the PTI report.

A 30-year-old Manipuri man who was working with a BPO, has been beaten to death in South Delhi’s Kotla area. News reports have quoted the Delhi police as saying that the man was beaten by four goons inside his car.

On July 7, 2014 Delhi: Manipuri youth’s body found in Chirag Dilli drain. The body of a man from Manipur was found under mysterious circumstances from a drain in South Delhi’s Chirag Dilli during early hours of Sunday.

Kawilungbou Chawang, in his mid-20s, was working for a BPO in Gurgaon. While he lived in Naraina in West Delhi with his brother, he had gone to visit his friends living in Chirag Dilli on Saturday for a party, Delhi Police officials said.

On June 1, 2014 Delhi: A youth from Manipur was allegedly racially abused and beaten up in the Sant Nagar area of Burari Saturday evening, leaving him with serious injuries. Police have arrested two persons, who reportedly first spat at the civil services aspirant from Northeast and then beat him unconscious. Police also arrested another person for passing racial slurs at the friends of the injured youth when they were returning early Sunday from the police station after submitting a complaint. –

On May 25, 2014 Delhi: Delhi University student from Northeast catches molester.  A Delhi University student belonging to the northeast community was molested inside North Campus by an outsider who had sneaked in posing as a student, police said.

The accused has been arrested and sent to jail. He has been identified as Jagdish, a resident of outer Delhi’s Narela.

The incident took place near the English Art faculty around 10.30am on Friday. According to the FIR filed by the 25-year-old, Jagdish approached her and tried to shake hands. Before she could sense his intentions, he tightened his grip and pulled her to one side. He then tried to misbehave.

On May 24, 2014 Delhi: A 29-year-old woman from Nagaland was allegedly molested by a lawyer outside Vishwa Vidyalaya Metro station on Thursday night. He was arrested after the woman complained to the cops.

Things turned ugly on Friday when a fight broke out outside the Tees Hazari court between a group of men and the woman and her friends when she came to court to depose before a judge. Police have lodged another case in this regard. Student groups of the north-east groups staged a protest outside the Metro station on Friday following the incident.

On March 26, 2014 Delhi: Manipuri couple assaulted in Delhi. In yet another alleged racist attack in South Delhi, a young Army-man from Manipur was attacked and his wife molested by a group led by his landlord’s family at their rented accommodation in Munirka village late on Tuesday night.

The entire incident was the result of an argument over handing a spare key and took place in the presence of the couple’s new-born baby. Seven people, including a woman, have been arrested in connection with the case. The Delhi Police have registered a case under sections of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, molestation and others against the accused men and placed them under arrest on Wednesday.

On March 25, 2014 Delhi: Girl from northeast molested, accused films act. An 18-year-old woman from Shillong was allegedly molested by a youth who also recorded video clips of her in the nude in south Delhi’s Vasant Vihar on Monday, police said.

The case emerged after the woman called the police control room at around 5.30am.  In her complaint, she alleged that a 22-year-old man took nude videos of her at a flat in Munirka near Vasant Vihar during a friend’s birthday party. She also alleged that she was forced to drink alcohol at the party.

On March 21, 2014 Delhi: A 20-year-old girl from Manipur, who came to the Capital in search of a job, was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside her rented accommodation at Munirka in South Delhi on Thursday morning. The police, prima facie, ruled out the possibility of murder and have sent the body for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.

According to the police, the deceased, identified as Aben Sofia, had come to Delhi around a week ago to meet her distant relatives – a brother-sister duo – who live in a rented accommodation at Munirka.

On February 23, 2014 Delhi: Assamese woman raped in Delhi. After a brief lull, incidents of attacks on North-easterners returned to haunt the national capital. A young woman hailing from Assam was raped by two persons, while a youth from Manipur was brutally attacked and robbed in what appears to be a case of mugging.

A 21-year-old Assamese woman was raped in South Delhi’s Mahipalpur area by two men, one hailing from Assam who also happened to be her friend. Both the culprits, identified as Rahul and Haroon, were arrested by Delhi Police on Sunday.

On Febryary 23, 2014 Delhi: Meanwhile, in yet another incident, a Manipuri boy was assaulted with rods and knives at Ber Sarai area of the NCR, injuring him seriously. His ATM card, some cash and other valuables, including his mobile phone, were snatched by the four attackers. The boy was later taken for medical treatment.

On February 12, 2014 Delhi: A 22-year-old youth from Manipur was stabbed and robbed here early Tuesday, in the third incident in a fortnight of a person from the northeast being targeted. Four juveniles have been apprehended for their involvement in the incident that was not “racially motivated”, police said.

On February 11, 2014 Delhi: Two young men from Manipur were assaulted by a group of men at a market in South Delhi’s Ambedkar Nagar late on Sunday night.

Late in the evening, the police apprehended two minors for the incident. The incident comes days after Nido Tania, a 19-year-old boy from Arunachal Pradesh, died following a “racial attack” by employees of a shop in Lajpat Nagar.

The victims have been identified as Ginkhansuan Naulak and his cousin Vumsuanmung Naulak, both in their mid-Twenties.

On February 8, 2014 Delhi: A 14-year-old girl from Manipur was allegedly confined, assaulted and raped by an 18-year-old boy in South Delhi’s Vasant Vihar area on Friday night around 10.30 pm. On February 6, 2014 Maharashtra: Manipuri girl dies in Pune hit-and-run accident. Amid growing protests against recent assaults on northeastern people in the national capital, a Manipuri girl was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Pune, the girl’s family said on Wednesday.

Victim M Mera Devi of Moirang in Manipur’s Bishnupur district was walking alone towards her residence when a speeding car hit her from behind at the crossing near the Iskcon Mandir area in Pune on January 31, said her brother, Ibungo, who, too, works in Pune. Mera was pursuing a short-term computer course in Pune, he added.

On February 2, 2014  Delhi: Two Manipuri women were allegedly assaulted by a group of men who are also reported to have hurled racist abuses at them in south Delhi’s Kotla Mubarakpur area. One person has been arrested.

The January 25 incident came to light even as the national capital witnessed protests over the death of Nido Taniam, a 20-year-old student from Arunachal Pradesh, who was allegedly assaulted by shopkeepers on January 29.

On October 3, 2013 West Bengal: A 28-year-old woman from Manipur, who claims to have a doctorate degree, was allegedly dragged out of a Secunderabad-bound train at the Palasa station in Andhra Pradesh and gang-raped by unknown miscreants. A few days later, she was found on the Pune Duronto Express by train staff shortly after it left Howrah. The woman, who was slightly disoriented and spoke incoherently, was finally taken off the train at Tatanagar and later escorted to the Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP) in Kanke, Ranchi. Doctors there confirmed that the woman was sexually abused.

On June 29, 2013 Delhi: Three Northeast girls were harassed by a CISF man at the IGI airport. On 29 June 2013 between 1pm to 2pm three girls from Northeast India were allegedly harassed by a CISF Constable, Ram Chander Chaudhury at IGI domestic airport. The three girls were harrassed by the constable while they were waiting for their siblings coming from Imphal to Delhi by Indigo flight which was to arrive at 1:30pm at the airport.

The girls told the North East Helpline that Mr. Ram Chander Chaudhury, a CISF constable came and asked us ‘Why are you sitting here for so long’ and when we replied we are waiting for a flight then he continued on asking unnecessary things ‘Which flight, show me your Identity card’.

On May 6, 2013 Delhi: Father, Son arrested. In yet another shocking incident of discrimination against the Northeast people, three Northeast boys has been allegedly beaten up by the landlord and his son on Monday evening.  The father, Adarsh Kumar and his son, Ashish Tokas have been arrested after they allegedly assaulted three Northeast boys with wooden sticks accompanying a group of local people, here in Munirka yesterday. This is the sixth incident reported to NE Helpline this year.

According to the three victims, they were thrashed and beaten while they were standing inside the building, after one of them spitted on the ground. The incident occurred at around 3.30 pm yesterday, when one of the victims said that he inhaled a mosquito in his mouth and spitted out immediately on the ground.  When the landlord Adarsh Kumar saw this, he began thrashing them with the help of the local people numbering around 7-10 men with wooden sticks and iron rods.

On February 26, 2013 Delhi: 24-year-old girl from Manipur was allegedly molested and beaten by her Director on February 26 in Mahipalpur, south Delhi. The victim filed a complaint at the Vasant Kunj Police Station the same day, however, the police, Mr. Ravi Yadav refused to register the FIR.

On February 24, 2013 Delhi: Two Serious Injured, One Admitted in ICU. Ten North East students were attacked at Delhi, two seriously injured, and one admitted in ICU. Delhi Police delayed in registering FIR and no action taken to apprehend the culprits. The racial attack on North East India continues in the national capital. In active of Delhi police is the matter of concern.

According to the source reaching to the North East Helpline, ten North East boys from Manipur were attacked by a group of unknown people on 24 February night in Delhi University campus. While they were returning after dropping one of their friends in DU hostel, a group numbering 8 to 9 people came from behind attacked on them with sticks. When they raised their voice and tried to defend themselves, the culprits fled from the spot. Two of them suffer seriously and one still in Intensive Care Unit, while others suffered.

On January 29, 2013 Delhi: Nineteen-year-old Nido Taniam, son of an Arunachal Pradesh MLA, was thrashed by local people in Lajpat Nagar in southeast Delhi, for protesting against racial comments and taunts mocking his hair colour and looks.

The youth was attacked twice in the course of a couple of hours. Taniam, a first year BSc student of Lovely Professional University, was in Lajpat Nagar around 1.30pm, seeking information on the exact location of a friend’s address.

On November 5, 2012 Bangalore: A student from Assam was cheated by an agent called Pankaja Singh for Rs. 2.6 lakhs for admission at Sri Krishna Institute of Technology near Hesarghatta. With our intervention the police complaint is lodged.

On October 24, 2012 Bangalore: Around 30workers from Tripura and Assam were physically attacked regularly in Shesadripuram, their residential area by local goondas for two months and their valuables snatched. We were able to lodge the police complaint by the police who were not cooperative, after taking help of the media. The accused were arrested on the spot. We lodged a complaint with Bangalore City Police Commissioner for a fair investigation and action against local police for dereliction of duty.

On October 21, 2012 Bangalore: A Mizo girl student was writing an exam in Bangalore University and her mobile was snatched by one of the professors. With our intervention the mobile was returned back to her.

On October 20, 2012 Bangalore: A senior police officer and his son brutally assaulted 4 Mizo students in the National Games Village, Koramangala. Police seems to have fed the false story in the media that the students were drunk and were dancing to the loud music in their flat when the incident took place. Which is false as the flat itself was locked at that time of the incident. The 4 students were waiting downstairs after coming to visit their friend (who stays in a flat in that apartment complex) as their friend was away. This happens in a place where 2 senior-most officers of North East origin – Mr. Lalrokhuma Pachao (present Director General of Police, Karanatka) and Mr. HT Sangliana (ex-Bangalore City Police Commissioner and ex-Member of Parliament elected to Loksabha from Bangalore City) live in the same area. No action was taken against the police officer and his son except that they apologized to the victims.

On September 21, 2012 Bangalore: 15 students of Jain University on JC road called and said they are being denied of their attendance from 15th to 31st August, leading to denying their hall tickets to sit in exams by the college management. Though the principal assured them of attendance before they left Bangalore on permission, on their return to Bangalore the principal went back on her words. We approached the Deputy Chairman of the Jain University resulting in the Principal giving them hall tickets and the attendance.

On September 18, 2012 Bangalore: A man living in Guwahati called and asked for the phone number of Police Headquarters in Guwahati, to report to about the incident of a 13 year old girl badly beaten up by Assam Police. Our friend in Guwahati, Dr. Water Fernandes’ assisted them.

On September 17, 2012 Bangalore: 3 Karbi workers (from Assam) living in Neelasandra area faced harassment by local men. People were knocking on the doors in the mid-night and the door was latched from outside. 2 days later they were waylaid by a group of men with stones in their hands, luckily due to the intervention of some people passing by, they were able to escape unhurt. We helped them in getting a FIR registered in Adugodi Police Station.

On September 16, 2012 Bangalore: 12 students and a pastor (all from Manipur) were attacked in their residential area in Dhodda Banaswadi with stones (2 people injured in the incidence) and stones were thrown on their house door. Police phone numbers (100 and 108) were not picked up in spite of calling multiple times. Police arrived on the scene only after 2 hours and one drunken police man demanded money from them. We visited the Banaswadi Police Station and police were non-responsive.

On September 14, 2012 Bangalore: One Assamese worker informed that his backwages were not paid by Franklin Security Service in Boomanahalli Area.  With our intervention the backwages were paid to him.

On September 13, 2012 Bangalore: 2 Bihari workers working as security guards in SIS security agency, Hebbagodi were severely beaten up when they asked for their backwages. We took support of Sanchaya Nele, local NGO and they got their backwages.

On September 13, 2012 Bangalore: We received information from 44 Assamese workers about non-payment of backwages from Novel Facility Services (contractor of BIO PLUS Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd), SIPCOT, Hosur, Tamil Nadu. After multiple visits, intervention of the police nodal officer and constant follow-up actions the back-wages were paid after a long delay. We found this contractor to be most horrible in dealing with workers. We were able to mobilize temporary relief support for these workers through our friends from Assam Society of Bangalore (ASOB).

On September 12, 2012 Delhi: Assamese girl gang-raped for several days in West Delhi. an Assamese girl was gang-raped for several days near Khyala in Nangloi Jat area of Delhi. The police came to know about the incident, when the girl came forward and registered an FIR.

Meanwhile, preliminary medical checkups have confirmed rape. According to reports, the girl had approached a placement cell for a suitable job. The placement agency then asked her to contact one Imran, who then handed over the girl to Khyala-based Naval Kishore who also ran a placement agency. It is here that the victim was raped for several days.

On September 10, 2012 Bangalore: Two men (from Sikkim) were asked to pay Rs. 1,500 extra for train tickets by a KSTDC travel agent at Majestic Area. We successfully intervened and prevented the agent from charging extra.

On September 6, 2012 Bangalore: A male student (from Assam) got seat in Civil Engineering at M S Ramaiah Engineering College through COMED-K. According to him, he was cheated by touts connected with the college and its administration staff to an amount of Rs. 25,000. He received many threatening calls from a local phone number to prevent him from taking admission. When he finally took admission in the college after all the obstacles, he was abducted in a van just after coming out form the college after admission process. He was attacked with blades, forced to part with Rs. 5000/- cash. Same evening he visited Sanjay Nagar police station and lodged a complained. Police didn’t register the case or intervene in any manner in spite a police officer being posted inside the Ramaiah College. The threatening phone calls continued even after that. After a lot of efforts, intervention of police nodal officer and we providing security for him, the student was able to meet the ACP (JC Nagar) and get the complaint registered. The whole incident traumatized and terrorized him to run back to Assam. In the process we were told that he lost more than Rs. 5 Lakh.

On August 31, 2012 Bangalore: Received call from a woman, who was being harassed by a woman in her neighborhood. We counseled her.

On August 25, 2012 Delhi: A 24-year old boy from Manipur was beaten up by four miscreants while travelling in Goa-bound train yesterday. The incident occurred at around 4PM after travelling for about two hours from Nizamuddin railway station, New Delhi. When the train starts moving, four youths suddenly barged into the train and began thrashing and smashing the boy.

According to the victim, “The miscreants punched me on my face and broke my spectacle. They also snatched away my gold chain, money and two mobile phones. They repeatedly punched me and kicked me on my chest and back inside the moving train. I was covered with bloods and my lips were swollen. While they were repeatedly thrashing me, I grabbed one of my bags, leaving behind other two bags and run for my life. There were many people inside the compartment but no one comes to my rescue.”

On August 24, 2012 Bangalore: A Naga student (male) received a threat call from the phone number +91 9811308415. This issue was taken up with the police nodal officer later.

On August 16, 2012 Bangalore: Near Shiva Theatre in Kolamangala, three men from Mizoram were threatened by some men, urine bottles were thrown on them.

On August 16, 2012 Bangalore: A Bengali man living in Chanadapura area was beaten up by his landlord on a money matter. Public also joined in beating him. The victim was beaten by his landlord and neighbors simply because he couldn’t speak Kannada. He is on 3 months medication. The Chandapura police refused to register a case. We visited the victim along with the representatives of Sanchaya Nele, local NGO, who told him that the main attacker is a major goonda in the area. Victim didn’t want to pursue the case.

On August 16, 2012 Bangalore: An Assamese boy from Manipur who lived in Koramangala was returning from his work, and stopped by some men. They asked him, ‘where are you from’? Out of fear he said, ‘I am from Manipur’. They tried to attack him; luckily he was able to escape.

On August 16, 2012 Bangalore: In Koramangala 8th Block, near Shiva Theatre, one Naga boy was attacked on his neck by a local woman. While attacking him, she was shouting loud and asked him to leave the place.

On August 16, 2012 Bangalore: In Neelasandra, 3 men (from Darjeeling) were attacked while walking on the road by 2 men with glass bottles. Immediately after that, two other boys joined them and they attacked them with a spade. One got injured on his knee and was admitted in the hospital. On August 12, 2012 Bangalore: In Chinnappa Garden, a Naga woman was evicted from her rented house with a 5 day-notice (in violation of rent agreement). The house owner also deducts 2 months-rent while returning her rent deposit.

On August 9, 2012 Bangalore: In Anepalya, a Naga man was physically hit by an auto driver while saying ‘don’t you know what had happened in Northeast?’ He managed to run away.

On May 13, 2012 Bangalore: A 25-year-old nursing student was raped by her aunt’s African 31-year-old boyfriend.

The victim, who hails from Manipur, is currently admitted to Dr D Y Patil Hospital in Nerul where she will undergo reconstructive surgery on her private parts owing to the severe injuries she sustained during the rape.

She has already undergone colostomy, a surgical procedure in which a pipe is inserted into the abdomen to remove stools and urine separately.

The incident took place on May 13 in Bangalore when the victim went there with her aunt to meet the latter’s boyfriend identified as Prince John alias Johnson.

On April 20, 2012 Bangalore: Student allegedly beaten to death at Bangalore. A Manipuri student, studying B’Arch at Bangalore was allegedly beaten to death by senior hostelmates when he switched the channel of the television while watching an IPL match last night.

According to reports received here, the engineering students were watching an IPL match on the television when the Manipuri student changed the channel.

This so infuriated the senior hostelmates that they pounced upon him and beat him up severely.

The youth identified as Loitam Richard (21) son of Dr L Rajesh of Uripok Yambem Leikai succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Family members have reportedly rushed to Bangalore.

On January 20, 2012 Delhi: The notoriety of being considered the most unsafe city for women continues for Delhi as the city was witness to yet another rape, this time of a 20-year-old Manipuri student. The girl, working at a spa centre, was raped in Dwarka on Wednesday night by a man who offered her a lift back home. But 48 hours on, there seems to have been no breakthrough in the case.

On January 19, 2012 Guragaon: Northeast girls being trafficked to Haryana for marriage. A large number of girls from the northeast are being regularly trafficked and forced to enter into wedlock in Haryana, the home ministry has found. Law enforcement agencies have found many such instances, specifically in Hissar district of the state.

A definite trend was noted by the home ministry which on Wednesday reviewed measures being taken by different states to combat human trafficking which takes the dimension of organized crime in the country.

It was also noted during the day-long meeting that girls from Nepal, Bangladesh and different parts of the country were often trafficked to metropolitan cities. While most of them ended up in brothels, the remaining were used by traffickers as child labourers, organ transplant donors and camel jockeys.

MUMBAI: The Social Service Branch of the Mumbai police raided a bungalow at Oshiwara on Friday night, where a prostitution racket was being run in the guise of a massage parlour. Ten Manipuri girls were rescued. Three persons were arrested while the owner of the place is wanted.

“We had received specific information that immoral activities were going on at a massage parlour at the Mhada complex in Oshiwara. A decoy customer was sent. Following a confirmation from him, our teams raided the bungalow,” said Mumbai ACP Vasant Dhoble.

On October 18, 2011 Delhi: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly molested by a man in Timarpur area of north Delhi on Monday night. The accused, however, escaped after the incident and has not been identified yet. The victim is a resident of Gandhi Vihar area. She is from the north east and belongs to Naga community, said police.

On September 21, 2011 Gurgaon: A woman from Manipur was sexually assaulted, kept confined in locked room and attempted raped repeatedly by two men in Gurgaon. North East Support Centre & Helpline (NESC&H) team rushed to the spot and rescued the victim. Police reluctantly registered complaint after bringing pressure from media.

According to rescue team combined of NESC&H and North East Student Bodies, the incident happened when Mary (name changed) 27 years old victim went to an old man in Gurgaon known to her for last three years, had food, drink and stayed there on September 19 and 20.

On February 14, 2011 Gurgaon: A 20-year-old youth from Manipur working as a sales assistant in a mall in Gurgaon was abducted and beaten up by three unidentified people late Sunday, a statement by the Northeast Support Centre and Helpline said Monday. A complaint is, however, yet to be registered with the police, it said. According to the statement, the Manipuri youth left work at 1.30 a. m. and was waiting to go home when the three unidentified assailants came in a car and abducted him.

On February 10, 2011 Gurgaon: A 14 years old Nepali origin from Manipur was rescued by Gurgaon Police from being sold off in marriage. The victim was seduced, sexually abused and raped before being rescued by the police. The accused Bikku Ranpal, 24, trafficked the minor girl from her native village in Manipur.

On November 24, 2010 Delhi: A young BPO employee, hailing from North East Region, was kidnapped and gang raped on in the early hours of Wednesday. According to police, the incident happened at around 12.30 am when the victim was dropped along with her colleague on the Ring Road in Dhaula Kuan by the cab driver. “While she was walking back, five men kidnapped her in their Tata pick-up truck and drove her towards Mangolpuri in outer Delhi. She was raped and then dumped in an unconscious state. She contacted the police on re-gaining consciousness,” said HGS Dhaliwal, deputy commissioner of police (south).

On March 13, 2010 Delhi: A 26-year-old Manipuri student was allegedly molested in Munirka, south Delhi, on Saturday, police said. The victim, however, did not give up, caught him and handed him over to the police. The woman, a hotel management student, said that the police refused to register a case initially and it was only after members of her community protested that it was done.

On June 21, 2009 Maharashtra: Racial Attack on Four North East Boys in Pune Four North East Indian boys belonging to Naga tribes faced racial attacked in Pune on June 21, 2009. Four of them got injuries on body while one suffers severely with five stitches on forehead.

On June 15, 2009 Delhi: A North East girl who came for graduate admission in Delhi University was allegedly molested by a tutor in North Delhi. The incident of molesting the innocent girl begun from the time she had gone to the resident of the accused for Hindi tuition, North East Support Centre and Helpline spokesperson, Madhu Chandra in a release reported.

On May 15, 2009 Delhi: Imphal, A 25-year old unmarried staff nurse of Vinayak Hospital, Derawal Nagar Modern Town in Delhi was found killed suspiciously on May 15 at the Ridge area, Rajpur Civil Lines. Due to late verification, the nurse’s dead body was disposed off by the concerned authority on May 19 at Delhi.

On April 17, 2009 Delhi: A six year old girl from Manipur belonging to a Naga tribe was raped and murdered at Mahipalpur, New Delhi today. Racial discrimination to North East communities living in Delhi and NCR continues.

On March 10, 2009, Delhi: Two north east girls was beaten by a cycle rikshaw driver. They were beaten with sharp edge stone from backside of the cycle rikshaw. Both the girls injured and admitted in local hospital. Police registered a complaint and culprits absconded.

On March 7, 2009 Gurgaon: Cable Operators Beaten A North East Boy Severely in Gurgaon. Three Cable operators bat a boy from Manipur and admitted in Civil Hospital, Gurgaon. Doors broken, house hold items and TV set broken. Racial assault and discrimination continues in Gurgaon city.

On December 30, 2008 Gurgaon: The year 2008 ended with sock with a rape case of a 22 year old Assamese girl in IT hub city Gurgaon, National Capital Region on December 30th night. The fact finding team rushed to the spot and extended help in filing the complaint.

The incident happened at 2.30 AM on December 12, 2008 when landlord at drunken state entered the room rented to two girls just two days ago and molested them. The girls informed the North East community leaders of Gurgaon and they rushed to the spot to help them. The landlord and his son assembled the neighbors and severely beaten them.

On July 11, 2008 Maharashtra: Working girl from Manipur found dead at Mumbai. Imphal, Jul 15: A 23-year old Manipuri girl working at the 5-star Leela Kempinsky hotel in Mumbai was found dead at her rented room at Andheri East in Mumbai on July 11 midnight in a suspicious manner. The girl identified as Chabungbam Elina alias Ebehaibi, daughter of Ch Shyamkishore Singh of Kongba Khestri Leikai Karkhong in Imphal east district was brought back by her family to Imphal on an Indian Airlines flight from Mumbai this afternoon.

Timapur police station refused to lodge First Information Report (FIR). Fact Finding Team of NE Support Centre & Helpline rushed to the spot to extend the help and gave trauma counseling to the victims.

On December 2, 2007 Gurgaon: A minor girl of 17 years old who is doing a designing course was molested repeatedly by her landlord in Gurgaon, Haryana. After failing the repeated attempt to rape, the house owner, in frustration threw out the girl along with her sister and cousin from the house without any reason at midnight. The North East Support Centre & Helpline went to lodge an FIR at Gurgoan Police station today, but the police denied even registering it.

On November 22, 2007 Delhi: A Woman Married to a North East Man Abused. Husband Threatened to Ride Over by Motor Cycle. A local woman married to a man from Manipur was teased with abusive remarks and her husband threatened by a group of young people in Murnika, South Delhi, when he tried to silent the abusers. He was threatened to ride over by motor cycles.

The incident happened when the couple residing at Raja Garden, New Delhi went to visit their relatives living in Murnika on November 22 at zero hour of the night. “I parked my car and enquired address of my relative to a group of people who were hanging around. Looking at me as from North East India, they started teasing my wife with abusive remarks, which aroused my wife in anger. I tried to silent the mob but I was threatened to ride over by motor cycle,” says the victim.

On November 9, 2007 Delhi: a girl from Manipur was beaten up by one of his own community fellow man at zero hour of the night. The man, who claimed to a Vice President of Student Union intruded her rented room in R. K. Puram, New Delhi while she along with her seven other friends was in deep sleep after celebrating her friend’s birthday. He slapped on her face two times and also abused her and her friends terming them to be bad character.

On November 8, 2007 Delhi: police has arrested a group of young people from Manipur after clashes with a group of people in Delhi. According to the information reaching to NE Support Centre & Helpline, the local group lodged complaint against those boys from Manipur and police took them in custody immediately. The police who used to snail space, delay and even denial when complained by North East communities, were so fast to take the complaint and arrest the accused. A case against the boys from Manipur was registered and produce before the magistrate and latter bailed out.

On November 7, 2007 Delhi: A 30 years old man from Manipur was beaten up by a neighbor in R K Puram. A neighbor along with two of his friends intruded a house belonging to a Manipuri family and grabs the neck of the husband and tried to hit him with iron rode without reason being told.

On November 6, 2007 Delhi: sexual assault to three and half year old girl from North East. The parents of the girl were suggested lodge complaint in police station and latter taken to hospital for medical examination.

The parents of the girl refused to register the case in fear of the facing disgrace that can cause by the medial examination to them and their little one. The accused went free without any punishment.

On November 4, 2007 Delhi: A Girl from Manipur was sexually assaulted by a resident of Sabdarjan Enclave in Daylight today. The girl was coming out of her rented house in Sabdarjan Enclave, New Delhi this evening, a man seems to be drunk came in front of her and assaulted her sexually in daylight. Soon after the incident, the resident of the locality caught hold of the man and requested the victim forgive him and let go without reporting to police.

On October 20, 2007 Delhi: A Landlord in Safdarjung Enclave refused to pay back the advance money given by a three North East students for renting rooms. Rooms were agreed to rent out to North East students but it was rented out to others when they went to occupy. In spite of the request, the landlord refused to give back the advance payment of rupees 2000 telling them to never show their face.

On October 21, 2007 Delhi: Same night after “North East Support Centre & Helpline” was officially launched at Press Club of India, a tribal girl age of 21 years old from Manipur was sexually assaulted by a tenant at 12:30 AM on October 21, 2007. In spite of protecting the victim, the landlord forced victim’s cousin and other students from north east India living in the rented house to vacate the rooms without any notice.

Fact Finding Team of “North East Support Centre & Helpline” after hearing the news of the incident, rushed to the spot and gave immediate trauma counseling to the victim. An application was lodged in Vasant Kunj Police station to book the accused and landlord under SC/ST Atrocity Prevention Act (1995)

On October 12, 2007 Delhi: A manager of a New Delhi Call Centre made sexual advances to two young women from North East India, and then stopped their salary and suspended them from work when they resisted his overtures.

On September 16, 2007 Delhi: four DU students, hailing from Manipur, have alleged that some unidentified men molested them on Saturday night while they were going to attend a freshers’ party at North Campus. The students alleged that the accused persons were appearing for recruitment of Delhi Police’s constable at Kingsway Camp.

On August 13, 2007 Delhi: A 27 year old woman has alleged that she was molested by an auto rickshaw driver in Chirag Dilli on Monday night. A case of molestation and criminal intimidation has been registered after the woman, belonging to Manipur, complained that the incident had happened when she was returning from work.

According to police, the victim is a resident of Chirag Dilli and was returning around 9.30 pm to her house. “She took an auto rickshaw from her office in Safdarjung Enclave for Chirag Dilli. When the victim was close to her house, the driver stopped the auto on the pretext that the vehicle had developed some snag,” said a police officer.

The victim, in her complaint, said: “He went to the rear side of the auto and started repairing something. While I was sitting inside the three-wheeler, he suddenly grabbed me and put a cloth on my mouth.”

In 2006, Gurgaon: a girl from North East working in a Mall in Gurgoan was molested by a manager in work place. Police filed a case against the manager with molestation charges.

On December 12, 2005 Gurgaon: A Manipuri woman in Gurgoan was almost dragged into truck at 6.30 pm. She manages to escape at the last minute. According to the police the woman was walking through main gate when a truck started following her. The driver offered a lift which she refused, but the truck continued to follow her as she walks into the colony of Sun City. After a while the truck driver and his cleaner started passing lewd remarks, forcing the woman to run into a narrow lane. Her pursuers got off from the vehicle and began chasing her and tried to drag her into the vehicle. The Manipuri women, however, manage to break free and run towards a nearby house. She rang the bell and sought refuge there. Said the investigating officer “neither the Sun City management nor the resident informed police and thus the investigation got delayed and the truck driver managed to flee and the guard could not chase them.”

On November 21, 2005 Delhi: Two youth arrested on Sunday for allegedly assaulting North East woman on Saturday night. They beat up her cousin brother after he tried to intervene, reported TOI.

On November 17, 2005 Delhi: A North East girl from Delhi University student was misbehaved by 20 years old youth when the girl had gone to the market accompanied by her brother and a friend that led to the protest from North East student.

On November 15, 2005 Delhi: A Manipuri girl was molested by three youths in Nehru Vihar, Delhi. When the girl raise alarm, a crowd gathered but no one made any move to chastise the three men, who in turn raised voices and started threatening the victim before running away. The police were reluctant to file an FIR as the three youths were from the same locality which led to a mass protest by Manipur Student Association Delhi (MSAD).

On July 10, 2005 Delhi: A girl from Manipur testified “I was returning from Dwarka after Church service. When I reach Chirag, Delhi I was eve teased by a man, when I ignored he said something in Hindi and caught my hand. Then when I tried to resist he slapped me thrice on my face. I started walking away crying but he came to me again , caught me on my breast and slapped me repeatedly saying that he resides in Chirag and it is his area. He threatened me with life and modesty if I complain.

On July 11, 2005 Delhi: 24 years old North East girl along with her friend, while coming back to her rented room was misbehaved and molested by a Taxi service owner at 3:30 PM. – HT.

On May 8, 2005 Delhi: A Girl from the North East was raped in a moving car after being abducted from a roadside eatery in south Delhi’s busy Dhaula Kuan area.

Police said the accused bundled the victim into the steel-grey car at 2.15 a.m. Sunday and instructed the man at the wheel to drive around the city. Four men raped her by turns while the car moved through the city.

They changed cars on the way and dumped the girl two hours later near Nanakpura Gurdwara, close to the place from where they had abducted her. – IANS.
